This has been a trouble since I bought the truck but not major enough for me to chase. In a nutshell, is there a sendor/sensor I change to fix it or is it more involved? Gauges and engine seem to run fine otherwise(read post "Living in bizzaro world..."). Recent major repairs to the electrical system has not affected this gremlin.

94 truck right. There is a sensor on top of the coolent manfold, running from upper block off of the heads to the thermostat. Unpluging this in cold Tems. will give a higher idle.
If it goes bad this could do the same? though the idle is a fuchion of the PCM.
There is a wire at the PCM if grounded will give it a high idle also. Pin B8 or B7
It may very will be one of these's wires
