I'm new to the Dmax but no stranger to GM Diesels after owning several 6.2's and the 6.5L I put in my `87 Suburban.

I've got a new LBZ truck on order and am trying to get my wheels turning on how to set it up. Among the plethora of knowledge and information on this site, I haven't seen a "wants and needs" list for the Duramax.

I'm leaning toward secondary fuel filtration as a 'need', but what else would fall under a "want" and/or, more importantly a NEED, for a new truck?

The capabilities of the Duramax are so phenomenal that there's not much left to wish for.... except for perhaps a little more power.... ;)

However, I'd recommend installing gauges....

Congrats on the new truck!

MP, I assume you mean EGT gauges?

Yes... Boost Pressure & Exhaust temperature

See the following for ideas.

Got Gauges! - Reloaded (http://www.thedieselpage.com/reviews/gauges2005.htm), which is an article we produced in 2005 that presents an overview of what's available for these trucks.

Plus our original Member Area article produced in 2002 (but updated last year) on boost/EGT gauges that contains info showing how to install them. Got Gauges? Gauge Kits & Installation How-To for the '01-'05 GM Trucks (http://www.thedieselpage.com/members/duramax/dmaxgage.htm)
