Since these trucks we have are so electronically dependant I did some maintenance that has significantly helped my truck. I bought a product called DEOXIT. (DeoxIT contact cleaner is a fast-acting deoxidizing solution that cleans, preserves, lubricates and improves conductivity on all metal connectors and contacts) CRC is a company that also makes a product like DEOXIT...so you can choose whichever one you like.

I spent about an hour diconnecting every electric connector from the a/c pump to the alternator to the selenoids and especially the IP connectors. Then on to all the tranny connectors and even the ABS. My truck has never ran so smooth and crisp before...I hope it lasts a while....but I may make this procedure part of my spring maintenance. Just my .02 worth.

Don't forget the lift pump connection and OPS connection and the PMD connector if you have the PMD relocator kit.

The second step is to apply a dielectric grease to the connections. De-oxidized metal oxidizes very quickly - especially aluminum. The dielectric grease prevents the metals from re-oxidizing.

I bought mine in a little bottle at Radio Shack for $14. Also I saw that my local machine shop carried CRC brand of electronic cleaner.
