I've discovered a 2 inch or so thin crack just under the plastic upper hose outlet on my radiator. (Easy to discover since coolant was shooting out all over the engine.) Is it repairable, or do I need a new radiator? If new, what is the best (cheapest!) place to get one? This is a new vehicle to me - just bought it and previous owner claims no knowledge of problem.

A capable radiator shop can replace just the tank. They should have one in stock, or not too far away. If the rest of the radiator is in good shape, it's a piece of cake. Interestingly, GM radiators are of only a few you can replace the tanks.

Thanks - I found a guy in a shop nearby who'll do it for $175, which is about half the cost of a new radiator.
