4348rd,

The simple answer to can you use them or not is yes. As to the differences between the heads it depends on the year.

Very early 6.2 heads (only 82 I think?) had .100" larger exhaust valves. Those were eliminated because of the cracking issues with the heads but apparently it didn't solve the cracks so IMHO the 82 heads are most desirable 6.2 heads due to the larger valves.

The injector angle is not true of all 6.2 heads, 90 and up 6.2's had the revised injector angle.

All 6.2's and all N/A 6.5's had a different precup design than the turbo 6.5's. The turbo 6.5 heads had a revised precup design but I'm a firm beliver that the 6.2 precup was more efficient (at least fuel milage wise).

Last difference I know of is van and hummer 6.2/6.5 heads had different manifold mating angles and don't like to play nice with truck parts. Other than those issues, I think everything is the same. Bottom line, the 6.2 heads will work on the 6.5, and as far as I know they will work correctly. I see no reason to let those good 6.2 heads sit, put em to use.
