On my 04.5, 2500, the left side charge cooler tube, cooler to engine, low near frame and front corner of the engine has a battery cable lead and other wires in a loom resting on the tube. This loom has worn through and the wire insulation worn somewhat as well as the alum cooler tube is worn somewhat, much longer and problems would start. Bent the loom braket and protected the loom with a piece of 3/4 heater hose split and placed around the loom. Only 26000 miles, next service you may want to check yours. bob...............

Thanks for the report. I've heard of this problem before, and not just with the GM trucks. Your solution(s) are good ones. You can also glue some plastic pads onto the aluminum intercooler pipes using silicone gasket sealer to help protect against wear.

If you are still in warrenty, go to the dealer and get them to replace the loom.
