Dodge w/Allison tranny?

Stopped in tonight to look at a Dodge Mega Cab Dooley and was talking with the salesman. I made the comment that the Dodge automatics are not all that reliable. He fired back that the Allison and the Dodge tranny are both made on the same assembly line, one stamped "Allison" and One "Chrysler". OH Boy. Is he reachin or what?

Problem is, a bunch of buyers will believe him. What a maroon....

The Dodge Cummins equipped trucks will be getting a new transmission - according to Diesel Power magazine. Dodge calls it the AS68RC, a six-speed HD automatic made by Aisin-Seiki Corp. Gear ratios are almost identical to the Allison.

Aisin could sound a little like "Allison" with the right accent. :D
