Has ony one seen less oil useage after installing a By-pass?
On my #2 oil change, first using the AMSOIL filter, then Balwin on filter&bypass,I have not used any oil between change.
As before it would need 1.5 qts. at change.
Change,3.5K

Were you using synthetic oil on the first change? Syynthetic oil is less volital (sp) plus gives a better ring seal. That accounts for less makeup oil. I have seen this happen many times.

Have'nt switched yet,using Moble 1300.
Been working on getting Trans switched over once I get a Ex-filter mounted and plumbed.

Could be a volume/temp thing, OR it could just like the cleaner oil.

A very unscientific theory is that with cleaner oil, there are less "pebbles" to interfere with ring seal. Kinda like using a squeegee on a floor in that the cleaner it is, the better it works. Had a report of decrease in consumption possibly from adding a Uni filter for the intake too.

Could be half baked theory too.
