Just discovered that Snap-on has a new socket for the water sensor in DMax fuel filters, P/N SWR3. Costs around $20 much better price than the aluminum units ! I also purchased a spare water sensor, GM P/N 97384931, which I install on my spare filter. It makes field changes of the filter much easier.
Also, the two wires which exit the bottom of the water sensor are stiff and not very durable . There is also no strain relief where the wires exit the sensor. I have put a dab of silicone sealant where the wires exit to provide some strain relief.
