Has anyone put a nv5600 behind a 6.5TD by chance? If so how much adapting does one have to do? I have a '94 K2500 w/ 6.5TD and a nv4500. Not that thrilled with the ratios and was thinking of going to a 5600.

Have you considered a Gear Vendors behind the NV4500? I did it on the ol 93 and it was then a different truck. Love the way you can split gears. Pretty reasonable on Ebay.

Havn't tried it but did look into it. Got all kinds of different stories but as far as I can tell it will bolt up. The 5600 is 2 1/2 in. longer so you will have to relocate trasnfer cross memeber. There is also some difference in the way the transfer mounts to the 5600 so it would be easyer to use 5600 w/attached transfer case. Then you will need to shorten rear drive line and extend the front drive line. Checked with a local truck wrecking yard for availability, .................not that many put out and none making it to the aftermarket. The few that do get into the system end up in thier trucks. Or you could buy new...................Gear vendors looks better as I look deeper into it.
