Time for some new shocks. My web (and TDP) looking has me leaning toward Bilsteins. Has anyone used something different that they've been happy with? Anyone unhappy with the Bilsteins?

The truck is an '03 GMC 2500HD C/C short Box 4x4 with 285/75-16 tires on 'er. Use is usually empty, but on occasion, I have the bed stuffed with dirtbikes and a 28' Dutchmen on the bumper. Considering a 35-37' fiver toyhauler when the daugher has a dirtbike as the bed is full now.

Thanks!

Rich

Love my Bilsteins from Kennedy Diesel. That was truly one item I did that made an immediate and very noticeably wonderful difference.

I wanted Blistiens, but got a great deal on Nappa Premiums. What a difference in ride and handling. The factory shocks wear out so slowly, that you don't notice it until the new are on

thought about bilsteins but went with newest premium Napa's for my '03 HD

I like em' Warranty is the best.

I didn't realize tht my old rears were completely shot until i took them off (36,000 reasonably kind Alaska miles). My front's were still OK but replaced all 4.

About $50/shock

You will be hard pressed to find a better performing or lasting shock than the Bilstein.

Factory shocks from DAY one are not valved correct for a truck with big springs like we have ! If you had zero miles on your truck you would still be happy you changed all 4 shocks ! trust me, 3 truck said the same thing in 2001 , 2004 and 2006. The rear shocks valveing is way of and the front is better but not right. I have run Rancho RS9000 , I was very happy with then but its a pita to change the settings and in the end after 4 years and 130000 miles the adjuster stuck from rust. Yes you read it correctly 130,000 mile at that point they where still in good working order and rode better then my OEM shock on my 2006 HD. I currently have a set of bilstiens on the 2006 , yes it made a noticeble differance even though my truck only had 3000 mile on it when I put them in. I think they could be slightly firmer then they are but it does ride very good comparied to stock.
