now have TWO DMax diesels. The 2006 g-van, and now a 2004 kodiak that floated throughout the Gulf of Mexico after Katrina.

Never drove allison before, DANG! Sure wish g-van had ally.

Compared to new, or even properly priced used, the kodiak was silly cheap, so we shall see.

So far.... a couple of pullies needed replaced at around 8k; the tranny module went out at 13k and needed replaced. I am still getting an average of high 17mpg, but I normally drive 75 mph. I DID get 19mpg the other day, when I drove 65-70.

I guess that I like it enough to gamble on an LB7 that was fleet salvaged out from SW Bell. THat truck's cab did NOT see water, and all electrical plugs and connectors look new. Sooooooooo we shall see if the gamble was worth it. Bed, boom, PTO, etc is worth 15k, so the gamble is 12k for a c4500 w/12k miles.

I have 100k mile major guard on g-van and with all of the piddly things already broken and fixed, Im really comfortable with that purchase, now.

I have 21k miles, right now, since Dec, 31st.
