Greetings-

I have a 1988 1500 that I am thinking about putting a non-EGR intake into. My question is what to do with the vacuum line going from the EGR valve down to some electrical components. Do I just pull the line and cap the nipple on the other end? What is the connector for that the line is hooked up to? Are there any special considerations that I need to know about?

Thanks

You can remove the EGR stuff. The vacumm lines and electronics that are on the rear of the drivers side valve cover is what you are talking about right ... they can be off the vacumm and/of disconnected. I removed my vacumm lines completely and used the electric wires to power my electric fuel pump relay. One vacumm component operates a butterfly in the exhaust manifold and the other operated the EGR valve.
