Any body towing with the above 6.5L? Any stability issues as compared to Surburban or 3/4 p/U's?

We currently tow a 29' 5th-wheel with our turbocharged 6.2L 3/4 ton truck. My wife and have been talking about trading down to a smaller light-weight travel trailer that we could tow behind our Tahoe. Our 5th-wheel weighs around 8000 lbs, and we're looking at a small 23' expandable that weighs about 4800 lbs. Even though our Tahoe has the diesel engine and 4L80E tranny, it's only rated to tow around 5000 lbs. Our Tahoe also has 3.42 gears which aren't the best for towing either.

The biggest thing to remember when towing with the 2 door Tahoe is the short wheelbase and soft suspension. You don't want to go too long or too heavy, because it won't handle well.

I'd keep it under 5000 lbs myself.
