Since you didn't specify much about your truck, we can only guess from way out here on the internet. :)

First weigh your truck full of gas. Add your weight, plus the weight of any passengers. That is your base weight. Then add in all the stuff you normally take with you. Then weigh the truck again. Look in your owner's manual in the section titled trailer towing fifth wheel. Subtract those two weights (separately) from the max load listed and you'll have your base weight (range) of what you tow. :) This base trailer weight can vary depending on your rear end ratio. Usually a 4.10 will tow more than a 3.73. To figure out which ratio you have, there should be a little label in your glovebox which will tell you. It will be in code. If you list the codes, we should be able to tell you. Then another variable is the engine you have. Some tow more than others. You didn't specify. You'll normally be able to tow more fifth wheel weight than the bumper weight. That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

With a 6" lift and 35" tires you will have a hard time getting a 5th wheel to tow level behind that setup. You might be wise to stick with what you have now if it is working for you.

That's a good point. If you are raised up 6" your trailer (5ver) may be at a slant (nose pointing up). This can be a problem for stability and bedrail (back by the tail gate) to trailer clearance. There are things you can do to the trailer to help with this, but make sure whatever trailer you look at that you check the height by the pin as compared to your truck height at the rear bedrails. Also, the 5th wheel hitch usually sits down inside the bed, there is some adjustment, but I doubt its enough to make up for the lift height.
