Do I need to do a TDC offset Relearn on a 1998 6.5TD L65 in Suburban? Read in a technical bulletin that the 1997/98 reset themselves.

Regards,

Noel

It does re-learn, but you can do it as follows;

Engine must be warmed up to operating temp (170 deg f +),
turn ign key on but do not start and hold throttle to floor for 45 seconds,
release throttle shut ign off, wait 30 then restart. Done

OBD I system with pump R&R or change over should have a relearn. 94-95.early 96.
