Was wondering if anyone knows of a direct replacement for the
NVG 261 Transfer Case. I'm running a '02, 3/4, 6.6 Duramax with a 6 speed ZF S6-650 trans. I'm on my second one and that's two too many. I would like number 3 to last longer than the other two.
And if no aftermarket replacement, does anyone know of somewhere I can buy the NVG 261XHD transfer case, besides the dealer.

Thanks

These txfer cases can survive a sled pull or 1/4-mile truck laying down 800 horsepower.... How are yours failing?

first one had a crack in the transfer case, dealer replaced on their dime.
second one has way too much movement on the output shaft to the point where it's getting into the bushing. Looks like the rear bearing fell out of its journal. Haven't opened it, but if that output shaft is moving that much, I'm sure internals aren't gonna be looking too good. Was just wondering if anyone else had any problems with these transfer cases?

Other than some reported leaks (as reported elsewhere here) these txfer cases just aren't failing.

How are you using the truck?
