Does anyone out there have a genuine Chev or GMC Workshop Manual to suit a 1998 Silverado 6.5TD.
If so could they possible scan the pages covering the TDC Off set learn procedure and the Injection pump timing procedure and email them to me?
I took some info from this site to a dealer here and they didn't want to recognise it as authentic.
No-one here in North Queensland Australia has these manuals.

Lets see, this is your truck and your willing to pay to have the timing set as you require. So they refuse to do some very simple steps? This is'nt something new and do they even know what GM calls for timing?
In your shoes the scan tool could not be in the mail soon enough.

Your "GM dealer" wants you to provide the instructions contained in the GM manual for 2 reasons....

1- They don't have the manuals.
2- They are clueless how to set the TDC-Offset - probably even with the GM instructions.

Putting you off takes the impetuous off them to do the work.

I know a guy in NSW with a Tech II.....

Go to http://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage.asp?r=seo11502

From there, you can order your manuals and have them shipped to you. It will cost you about $150.00 US, but is worth every penny and then some. It really is a violation of copyright law to scan and e-mail like that. The GM dealer could get huffy over that as well.
