Has anyone had any luck with OEM replacement oil cooler lines not leaking? Mine are getting pretty bad and I want to replace them before they get much worse. I see a member has replacement metal lines. Any thoughts?

Unfortunately the new OEM seem not to have been improved, so a temp fix.
Those offerred by Greg/LubeSpecialist are all flexible hose, but they don't leak, and his kit eliminates the 'quick-connects' at the block which occassionally fail, catastrophically....

I just went thru a replacement of the oil lines. I called Greg but due to the Holidays he was going to be out until the 7th he informed me. I drafted up a plan and went to my local hydraulic shop and had some hoses made with one end only installed and a total length of each hose was 6 foot per hose, I did not want to be short and I custom cut the hose myself. The hose was a Dayco Y908, SAE100R5, SAEJ1405 and DOT 73002 real good stuff. I used all Parker fittings 90 deg to the block, 2 straight fitting to connect to the 90

I purchased some from Greg last month. I haven't installed them yet(pending the outcome of my new mechanics assessment of damage due to the failure of the original lines), but, I can say they are very nicely constructed and better than anything you'll get from GM.

I second the recommendation for Greg's lines. While weather has prohibited my installation of the ones I bought from him, he is fast, friendly, communicative, and just plain good folks. Gives good deals on Amsoil stuff too.

Thanks for the replies, EscaladeDiesel I followed some of your situation regarding your oil lines, I don't want to feel your pain. I'll stop down and see Greg when I'm down south next and get a set of his lines. I don't really have the time to make my own the kids have been on me to get the snowmobile running needs points and condenser an old 73 Cheetah 400. Just got our first decent snowfall.

Hey JohnnyB let me know if you need a hand with those oil cooler lines! I'm not far from "the fort". My second set of oil lines are starting to leak too.

Dean, thanks for the offer right now its too cold to be under the truck on the driveway. If you have a heated garage or barn I would be happy to come on up sometime. Next time I'm up your way I'll stop in and say hello!
