I don't know if this is normal, and a quick search of the forum didn't yield any answers. When I start the engine for the first time on any given day, the glow plugs cycle on and off repeatedly after the engine has started. They can do this 1 to 5 times or so, and always for just 1 or 2 seconds at a time. It creates quite the power draw each time, obviously. Am I being concerned for nothing?

Thanks,

If the glow system is healthy, it is normal, and called "afterglow". If it cycles as much when it's warm out as cold, it may be an indicator of a glow system problem. It is normal for it to cycle once or twice after a start when warm out, and more when it's colder.
