A couple of short hints. Fuel filter.Glow plugs/controller if it starts hard when cold. Number one problem could be the cooling system.Head gasket,cracked head. Air bubbles while running in cooling tank. Top Rad. hose not ferm when up to temp. Next. injection pump timing. A quick check could be to have a look at the top front of the pump. There will be two scribe lines.One on the pump and another on the mating flange. Are the two line close to being inline. Only a scan tool can check how the timing is.
If the scribe line on the pump (scribe on housing stays centered) is towards the pass. side (on america vec.) the time could be retarded.

Just wrote to say a little about the prices in Sweden for chevrolets...
A 91 Silverado Pickup ext.cab with 4x4 6,2d and about 300.000km run costs about12000 u.s dollar in Sweden.
A new chevrolet pickup, silverado with standard equipment is over 70.000 us...
