I've have chips in the paint of my new '06 due to new sealcoating of a road I was traveling on (no warning signs or anything). I've heard that with the clear coat they can be "buffed" out or blended in. I have 3 small dot chips on the top front hood, 12 or so small dot chips in the lower front door panels and 4 in the rear lower panel behind the rear tire. What is the best fix. I live in winter SALT country (MN) and want them fixed soon - knowing this state - they'll start pre-salting soon (LOL).
I do plan on keeping this vehicle for many years and hundreds of thousands of miles. Very happy so far - this is my 3rd DMax - other two worked and were flawless! Thanks for you opinions.

Go to Langka.com and be sure to use only the factory touch up paint which you can get from the dealer using your VIN. This product worked great for me after I got the proper touch up paint. Initially I used some metalic paint by mistake.

Hope this helps.

For the home repair types, you can clean the chip with thinner, fill the chip with single-stage paint till it's slightly above level, then wet sand & buff to get a good repair.

Auto detail & accessory shops here in Montana offer a clear film that can be applied to the leading several inches of the hood & fenders, that makes the paint a lot less prone to chips. I plan to have this done on my next new truck. Wish I'd done this on my '01.
