I got my intercooler installed a week or so back!
What a difference it made in towing. I towed my
Off-Road Toyota and a buddy's sand rail to Laurel
In last weekend on a 25ft gooseneck,total weight=
approx.10,000lbs, towed like a champ, Egt's never
got over 900* post turbo.I had also swapped out
my BD chip for JK's TD-max chip which also helped
I'd recommend this set-up to anyone! Just thought
I'd brag a little!! By the way BD chip is for sale
if anyone is interested!

Ronnie,
Yes I'm the guy Randy was talking about! You might
even know me, I work at Rolls Royce Allison I
thought you were up there at one time! I see your
posts on here all the time. I remember you from
back in your Hot Rod days when you had your Camaro
I drove a 66 chevelle big block and also a 67
El Camino both of which I still have! Drop me a
line we'll talk diesels!!!

Bigg R,

Yes, I used to work at Allison. I spent about six years in the Mechanical Technology/Advanced Design area at Plant 8 and about seven years at Plant 5 as lead mechanical design engineer for the 250 helicopter engine. I left there in 1998 and went to Caterpillar for about a year. I then went into business for myself and have done contract work for both Rolls (Allison) and Cat since then. In fact, I was at Rolls Plant 8 on Wednesday for a meeting. I'm starting a new project with them to fix a vibration/case deflection problem with the 501-KC7 at Florida Gas. I went to Citizens Gas pumping plant at 86th and Michigan road this morning to look at their 501-KC5 installation for comparison of mounting arrangements.

What plant do you work at?

BTW, I sold the 67 Camaro that you remember, but I have another 67 SS/RS Camaro...waiting for the time, money and energy to get an engine transplant. Unfortunately, it has had to sit outside for several years and the elements are working it over. It is still on my list of things to do, though. I put the engine out of the first Camaro in my 67 C10 truck, with a slightly milder cam and smaller carb. My son drives that truck now.
