GO WITH THE SPEARCO IT WORKS WELL.
I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN HOW YOUR NEW ENGINE TURNS OUT.
I WAS THINKING ABOUT USING THAT SAME TURBO ON MY 95.

I just ordered a 300hp engine from Peninsular, and meant to ask Matt about intercooling. There was mention of them working on an I/C set-up a while back here on"The Page".I`m wondering who`s already done this, mainly w/GM8.

That`s a non-wastegated GM8.Also,when I said"they`re working on an I/C set-up,I was refering to Peninsular.I will call them next week.

Hold all calls.I`ll be recieving the engine on 12/8.Then I`ll see what medium-duty turbo it comes with.

Tough Guy's Project Truck is an 18:1 engine with GM-8 turbo (wastegated). It uses a Turbo Technologies intercooler unit. The TT intercooler core is smaller than the Spearco sold by Kennedy. It seems that most folks have installed the Spearco since the time that the Project Truck was completed. The Project Truck has performed very well according to Tough Guy and More Power. See the summary article (http://www.thedieselpage.com/finale.htm) and the update article (http://www.thedieselpage.com/members/features/chrispp.htm) for more information.

I have put another 19,000 miles on the truck since the last article was written. The GM-8 turbo is the only limiting factor for power and EGT's IMHO...

If I could stuff in a SPEARCO into a K1500 you should be able to do it the kit was for a 2500/3500 which has more frame room, only change I've made since installing is replacing the exhaust flex tubing with solid tubing, the exhaust tube was only 3 psi ratred and oil/air would weep past the flex spiral joints, haven't updated my web site yet mine is a GM-8 WG stock 21:1 for now. http://myweb.cableone.net/tbogemirep/

Which of the trucks is the engine going in? ...or are we talking about the Harley? :D

The motor is going into the `95K2500.I`m very anxious, yet trying to be patient. It already has a BD 4" exhaust and a Centerforce Dual(heaviest,90%more hold)clutch. So,it`s ready. The truck also recently(6,000mi.)recieved new NV4500&transfer case. It`s my work truck and is set-up the way I like it,with service body, ladder racks, and custom tonneau cover(the bed houses larger tools). So I plan on keeping her for a long time. Also, since I have the other trucks,I`m happy to be sitting on spares.Did you know GM wanted a $500.00 core charge for the 5spd?They got the trans. It seems wierd(greedy?)to require a core for a new unit, since they`re not in the rebuilt parts business.I bought one in `96 w/o a core and it came with a 3yr/30,000mi.warranty.This last one only had a 1yr/10,000mi.warranty.
