6.5 turbo diesel-cracked block- sleeve repair

Has anybody had experience with using a sleeve to repair a cracked block. A National Guard mechanic told me they would put a sleeve in the bad cylinder of the early Hummers and that would fix the problem.

So, the crack you're seeing is in the cylinder wall?

If so, yes you can safely correct the crack by sleeving the cylinder and re-using the block at that point.
