I have an 02 Duramax that the engine is going out of warrenty, I would like to install a bypass oil filter. I have been told that I can use the plugged fittings on the filter housing to run lines to the new filter and retain the original filter in place.
Has anyone used this setup.
I have been using Rotella synthetic changed at GM recommended intervals to maintain warrenty. after the warrenty expires I would like to extend oil change cycles using this additional filter and oil testing.
The rig is used for light duty driving except for ocassionally towing a 32 ft
5th wheel (approx 12,000 lbs)
