The rig is a -92 with 6,2l diesel.
It just stopped glowing the other day.
Battery voltage > 12 V
Checked voltage, abt. 6,5 V, on "ignition"-pin in connector on the not connected glow plug controller with key ON.
By coincidence I found out that there was the same voltage on FAST IDLE SOLENOID. I disconnected the solenoid an voltage at ignition-pin jumped to abt. 11,5V.
Made jumpers between plug and controller and found out that when "ignition"line is connnected to controller the voltage drops to abt. 6V.
If I take 12V from hot terminal for the glowplugs the controller ignition-pin it works just fine.
What in the world can cause the voltage-drop that stops the controller from working ??

Good Day!

Sorry I can't help you directly. I would strongly suggest purchasing a factory service manual from Helm (http://www.helminc.com) (Click in colored text.) if it's still available.

Let us know what you find.

Blessings!
