I have my oil cooler lines off and am going to have the hose connections re-crimped with steel as someone suggested in another post. How reliable are the quick connect fittings at the engine side? I am considering going with a 90* angle and a compression fitting to eliminate these if they are a problem.

I am adding a Harvard 500L by-pass oil filter. The filter housing is large and needs to be mounted between frame rails. I took the oil pan off and braised in a return line fitting above the oil level line. I am looking for a place to tap in for a pressurized feed. The filter housing has an oriface to control the flow so it won't reduce pressure to the cooler by much if I tapped in there.

There is a 3/8"NPT port that has a plug in it right by the oil cooler ports in the block. I used this for my Dr Lee by-pass oil filter.

Thanks Carey, tapping in there will reduce oil pressure within that galley. Would you be concerned about depriving some remote component?

Couldn't find a shop that could recrimp my lines. Some shops had ferrule's that were close but not just what the doctor ordered. After reading more posts about the retaining clip connection at the block being a problem, I decided to order Lube Specialist's lines.
