View Full Version : Fuel Pressure on LBZ

I want to add a fuel pressure gauge, but i need to know what the normal fuel pressure range is at idle and redline. That will tell me if i need a gauge from 0-30 psi, or a 0 - 100 psi.

-2"hg to -6"hg+ as there is no supply pump from the factory.

I don't suggest monitoring as it swings around wildly. I have a test gauge that allows you to do a simple stationary test. The Lift pump on is with my twin pumps operating.

so would that be the actual fuel press at the fuel filter housing???

-2"hg to -6"hg or more depending on fuel flow, tank level, inertial load, and filter conditions.

hmm im confused that it creates a vacuum. On my peterbilt dump trucks the fuel pressure gauge is tapped right into the fuel filter housing and at idle the fuel pressure is reading about 90 psi. thats why i was gwtting confused when you say that there is -2"hg to -6"hg.

The Duramax equipped trucks do not have a fuel lift pump. The fuel is suction from the tank, through the filter, to the HP engine mounted pump. It should have vacuum. It is only pressurized from the HP pump to the injectors.

FYI, I do offer lift pumps, complete lift pump kits, and pump/filter combos.
