My 04 Duramax again lit the check engine light today. Truck's running fine but I hate to pay the dealer $75+ just to read the damned code. Is there any way to do it my self without a reader? Is there an inexpensive reader/reseter I can buy without spending a lot of dollars?

If the C E L is still on, Auto Zone will read it for free.

AutoZone will read it for free, but the last time I went there they only found 1 of 2 codes that were set. But, it will at least point you in the right direction.
