Hi,
I had a 01 1500 with the trailor brake in it and I took it out when I got my 04 Duramax is the GM wireharness the same from the 01 1500 to the 04 2500 HD. It did plug in and the green light came on but when I put on the brake the light does not turn yellow like it did on my 01 1500. Thanks for the help

There are 2 wires that need to be swapped on the '01 harness to work with the '04. I don't remember which ones, but you can search this forum, or wait for someone that does remember to jump in. Damned CRS!

When I went from my 2001 to 03 I had to change 2 wires on the harness. It was simple to do and I found the info here:

http://www.tekonsha.com/bch3025.html

or you can call their 800 number and the tec will tell you which ones to swap.

Here is the page with the diagram:

Check out as listed in:

http://www.tekonsha.com/files/BC%20Wiring%20Harness%207854%20Rev.%20A.pdf

It appears you looking at the OE harness ???

The diagram in :

Is for the brake unit that plugs in the underdash block.

If you are confused, welcome to the club, call them at the 800 number and they will walk you through it.
