Thermostat replacement

I'm working on a 1999 van with a 6.5. It looks like you have to pull the water cross over manifold to replace the thermostats. Does anybody know if thats the case? Because it's a van it might be eaiser to pull the engine first (:

When I installed the dual thermo crossover, there are 4 bolts holding the housing on ( which containt the 2 thermostats). I was able to install it, and place the thermo's and the new 'housing' without touching the manifold. 2 bolts above, two below, but I'm guessing by now you probably figured that out.

Use the Robert Shaw type High flow thermostats.
