After seeing the other posts on rear end clunking, I thought I'd pose my situation. When stopped at a stoplight after light braking, there is a bump or clunk in the rear when I remove my foot off the brake and begin to accelerate. Its not a large clunk

I don't think I've ever read a definitive cause/effect of the bump you're experiencing with your truck. Some have theorized a problem with splined driveline yokes, axle wrap, worn rubber bushings in the spring eyes, and so on.... My guess is that a combination of the above is at work. The various trucks I've owned since the 80's all would do this.

It's only a problem if it gets on your nerves.... :D

Jim...thanks for the note. I'd agree that its probably a combination of a couple of things that begin to wear as the truck ages. I replaced the rear shocks today (still had the OEM's), and so far that has seemed to make a huge improvement. I'll wait for a few weeks and see if that still helps. Both of the OEM's that I removed had lost their gas pressure.
