I got tired of the 245's under my big HD soo I have a 66 GMC 3/4 that I never drive but i put new set of 285/75/r16 BFG AT KO'S and white "wagon" wheels on a couple years ago that probably didn't have 500 miles on them. so I took them off and painted them black with duplicolor high temp gloss black and slapped them on the HD. I cranked the torsion bars up enough to level it out. I think it looks alot better without those skinny chrome wheels and tiny tires. I'm thinking about leaving the center caps off or getting another set and painting everything but the chevy logo black. i don't know.. what do you all think would look better?

Definite improvement! Nice pics! ;) I don't know of anyone who prefers the look of 245's...

The 265's I put on my 2500HD produce a smooth and quite ride, and look a lot better than the 245's the truck came with. With the right tire pressure, they didn't hurt fuel economy either. :)

That is definitely an improvement.

I'd love to have that '66. We had a 1/2 ton stepside that grand-dad left me. Can't believe I sold it. bad decision, but cash was tight at the time.

Your 66 is an awful lot like my 61. Talk about a tough, mean truck. What engine/trans combo does it have?

Nice Dmax, BTW.

I redone it a couple years ago...I was looking for something to rebuild and decided to drag it out of the weeds and work on it. It has a 4 speed manual. the original motor got blown up a long time ago and it got replaced with a 305 out of a 83 monte carlo. We made a sissor jack to dump the bed that runs off a power steering pump. One of these days I'd like to redo the drivetrain in it. LOTS OF VIBRATION. they are a lot of driveshafts in that thing and all the yokes are worn out. And it's pegged out at 45 mph. but man it's a tank.
