Hello

since the weather got cold down in New Orleans my 86 G30 6.2L van has developed a MAJOR leak at the junction b/tw the newly replaced (reman.) master cylinder and the hydro-booster. PLUS the brake pedal, once depressed slowly goes to the floor:eek: !! The fluid in the MC resevoirs is transferring from the rear break section of the res. to the front:confused: WHAT IS GOING ON!!??

ANY THOUGHTS GREATLY APPRECIATED. thanks

Nothing catastrophic here. You need to replace the MC. It's toast. Just be sure to flush out the old fluid with new, and bleed it properly.

thank you for your help. I just replaced the MC in Oct. so i could not imagine how it could be that part. Alas, i underestimate the lack of quality in many remanufactured parts. It seems there is an art to finding with reman companies do the best job on which parts. Thanks again.:D

If it is the master cylinder the leak will be brake fluid.

If it is the hydro-boost, the leak will be power steering fluid

Never the twain shall meet, dude......................
