I want to drop my compression a bit more and know that these will drop it another point. I bought pistons from avant and the compression is at about 19.5 to 20 right now. Do the FEL-9521PT .010 over head gaskets from felpro have any more chance of blowing then the normal headgaskets?
Thanks,
Kyle

No clear-cut answer for you w/o a few questions first...

If you're using 6.2L heads, then I'd say that the .010 thicker head gaskets will not be any weaker at all.

If you're using 6.5 heads and 6.5 head gaskets, then yes, I'd say the .010 thicker gasket will be weaker.

Why?

The standard thickness Fel-Pro 6.5 gasket have re-enforcement on the rear sections of the gasket, where the peanut shaped coolant port on the block/head is located (thin metal gasket). The 6.2 Fel-Pro gaskets don't have this re-enforcement, and neither do the .010 thicker 6.5 gaskets...

If it were me, and the heads had been shaved a little, I'd install the .010 thicker 6.2L gaskets (assuming you're using 6.2 heads here). And get the c/r down to 18:1.

But, the 6.2 seems to only start decent down to 19:1, so it's really your choice.

I have 6.5 heads. I don't plan on running too much power or boost, so i should be fine with slightly higher compresion. I would rather have it be reliable.
Thanks again,
