Congratulations to Joe Komaromi of Pacific Performance Engineering ( www.pacificp.com (http://www.pacificp.com) ) for having the best performing truck at Diesel World magazine's Drag Competition with an 11.604 second pass. See the full story in the March 2007 issue (should be available now at mag outlets). Joe's truck is a 2002 LB7... :)

There are at least two ways to get the oxygen necessary to get a Duramax into the 11's. 1- Factory turbo and nitrous. 2- Larger single turbo or staged twins. Joe is running a single Garret GT4294 turbo that is said to produce 45 psi. And, no nitrous... ;)

IMHO - For a daily driver that sees only occasional track duty, stock turbo/nitrous might be a better choice for all-around driveability. On the other hand, if you're out to set records, you'll throw more stuff (& $) at it.... :D

A large part of the 11 second equation for the PPE truck running those times on #2 only is the addition of a second CP3 pump. Without it, I doubt it would be running those times.

One of our clients ran an 11.87 in his 2003 LB7 Duramax on NO2 with the twin CP3's, larger turbo and our custom programming (our DDTuner software)...and drives his truck every day. Making a fast DMax is definitely the trend, today.

To maintain civility in the board, we settled on a policy several years ago that asks competing vendors not to post messages in threads whose subject was another vendor or vendor product.

In addition, when a generic topic is started by anyone, competing vendors are asked not to post messages that the board admin considers as being critical of another vendor.

If a vendor (or anyone) believes what another vendor says here in the board is inaccurate, contact the admin - either DmaxMaverick or I, and we'll look into into it.

If any vendor wishes to start a new thread in the Duramax or 6.2/6.5 forums about a product or service they are offering, contact the admin, we'll make the first post for you. Then that vendor can post whatever. The other vendors will stay out. We can start new threads for them, if they wish.

If a vendor wants to make a commercial post or make a company announcement, we have an advertiser forum where you can do that - be as commercial as you wish....

Thanks,

Jim

We never got a chance to run nitrous or propane on the truck. Its safe to say we would of drop about 1 sec off the times if we had.

This was on a bone stock engine (with headstuds) with Stock injectors, Of the self Tuning, Single turbo, Dual cp'3s, Lift pump, exhaust and trans upgrades.

So what is on the horizon for your truck? 10's would be a big deal.

The truck that ran 11.60 (the one in the video) was sold. So I guess we will never find out...
