i posted in the members area about this problem...my starter has been getting slower and slower over the last month..batteries,alt,cables have been tested more than good....NAPA "bench-tested" the starter and said its good??? what else is there????..my question is: is the "bench test simply a test of good/bad, or can it spot a weakening starter...and how does this "bench" put a 6.5 liter "load" on the starter??...i'm at a total loss and will appreciate any input...thanx

Just a thought, but is NAPA's tester configured to test diesel starters? Since you've done everything else, it sure points to the starter as being the culprit. Try taking it to an experienced rebuilder who works with both gasser and diesels and get it tested there for a second opinion.

i replaced starter and everything is now great....so the question is answered...NO, the "bench test" CANT spot a weakening starter
