Does any one know where to get a (pcm) computer for a 97 6.5L. Maybe on the internet since the dealer would charge a arm and a leg.

They're pretty easy to get from auto recyclers (wrecking yards). You can also place a wanted post in the TDP Classified Ads Forum (http://www.thedieselpageforums.com/tdpforum/forumdisplay.php?f=25). New and remanufactured PCMs are available from www.gmpartsdirect.com and www.rockauto.com for much less than at your local dealer.

depending on price, might now hurt to go aftermarket as well. The 2 big aftermarket PCM's are Heath and Kennedy. They run about $600. Programmed for performance, but you wont loose any fuel mileage, unless you abuse the extra power.
