Can you ID this Part?

There is a round thing shaped like a distributor, looks like a plunger at the bottom with a rod connected to the injector pump throttle linkage.

The engine came out of a 84 suburban I don't know if it had cruise control, I don't think it did but I'm not sure.

I've got one of those too and have been wondering what it was. 1984 GMC C3500 4dr. dually 6.2L. I was told the previous owner had the cruise disconnected or removed. The switch is still on the column but can't get it to do anything.
