Anyone have a source for the 6 pin axle nut wrench required to do the rear brakes on a 1995 Chev K2500 witha full floating axle? It requires round pins and the auto parts stores only seem to have the square pin wrenches around here. And of course the dealers don't really sell GM tools. Thanks

I used a screw driver, they are not very tight.

Good Day!

If memory serves... :(

I think this turned out to be a spendy socket I almost threw out. I bought it originally to remove the bearing retaining nuts on the front axle of my 82, & it worked fine on the rear axle of my 95.

I'll try to remember to look at the tool & see if the pins are round or square (I think they're square), but don't hold your breath...

Blessings!

Good Day!

The special socket I have has six pins that are half-round, the round facing inward.

Blessings!

Ronnie, is yours half round too? Any chance of a Carquest part number?

Thanks, Moondoggie, that tidbit may help.

gpearce,

The socket I used to do mine "had" square pins when I bought it, but it now has round ones compliments of a little file work. It didn't seem to hurt anything when R&Ring the nuts.
