Folks,
I have in my garage the parts to convert the V-Belt system on my 83CC to the serpentine from a 1997 CK.
The missing piece is the coolant crossover manifold. I bought a single thermostat manifold that came from a 1995 CK. The manifold and support on the driver side interfere with each other. there is a pathway for the manifold leg to go beneath the A/C compressor. The manifold leg tries to pass through the rear pad mount.
I think I saw mention that the early 90's Van TD used the same design framework for the serpentine system, but used a single thermostat mounted high
I have thought about using the twin thermostat housing, and I may in the future. I need to think about how to keep the upgrade as simple as I can.
Does anyone know if the early 90's van used the serpentine framework that the 97-99 CK's used? and if so, what did the crossover manifold look like.
I saw a picture of one that looks like it might work in the DieselPower article about swaping a 6.5l into other chassis ( like SB chevy engines).
