...and already have a probing question. I am planning a restoration project on my '68 3/4 ton Chevy P/U. It is currently running a 283 with some modest modifications. It has 4.10 gears and a 4 speed transmission.
My project will involve a total tear down to the frame and then rebuild it. For the engine, I would like to go 6.5 turbo. The transmission works great for the hills around here as does the rear-end. I will have the transmission rebuilt and will be adding the GearVenders overdrive box.
I have added power steering and power disc brakes to the front. I am planning on adding 4 wheel power disc brakes on the rebuild. No lowering...stock hight for this project.
As far as the engine goes, will it fit? Will it mate to the transmission? What do I need to build the new long-block? Can I get a complet crate engine for this application??
