I was doing some towing the other day with my 3/4 ton and I must have been pushing the limits of my GVW.. anyhow the old girl was saggin the rear pretty bad... I'm looking at putting in an air bag style helper spring to keep the truck sitting pretty and therefore safer on the road.
What system/brand would you recommend.

I have the Firestone Ride Rite bag system on the rears of my 94 E-350
Class C M/H It was also sagging in the rear B-4 the wife started loading stuff in it.
They made it much more stable as well as leveling it out the. Bilsten shocks were also a great help.
I keep the bags around 35-45 lbs psi.
If its loaded real heavy I go about 20lbs more much over that it gets a bit squirly I think it loads the front end to heavily when you really juice it up.

Firestones are good. Can even get onboard controls or self leveling. Depends on how much you want to part with.

I put the Firestones on myself. It was easy. I do not have the air pump. Just ran the lines to the rear bumper, next to license plate.
I use them to level out the rear also. Once I put the golf car in the bed it went down. They work good, I run 15 to 20 lbs in each.

I also use the Firestone air bag. They work good to level the load. I use about 20#'s of air to help the stock suspension when pulling my 5th wheel (pin weight of approximately 2300#).

They are easy to install also. The only disadvantage that I can see is that Firestone does not recommend putting the truck on a service lift (example to get your oil changed) and letting the suspension system completely uncompress. At least thats what the instructions indicated.

I have the Firestone bags on my '81 as well. I also have the compressor kit that allows me to inflate/deflate the bags from inside the cab. I also found that only 25 psi in the bags was sufficient to level the truck when towing my 5th wheel.

I have the Airlift system on my 05. Bought it from kennedydiesel.com They are easy to install and hanging it from a hoist does not seem to hurt it a bit.
