cargo light

Does anybody know why my cargo light symbol would go on all by itself? Started my truck today and the light by the tack shows that it is on but the push button is off. The cargo light is not on and it does not work. Any thoughts on where to start to look would be appreciated.

OK, this may be a stupid question, but is the light bulb burned out? Maybe the Cargo Light indicator is saying the bulb is burned out.

No its not a stupid question that is the first thing I checked. But after looking at everything close I noticed that my dome lights only go on with my door opener and I don't have the dome overide on. I guess I am going to have to look alot deeper.

The same thing happened to my 02 d/a. It turned out to be the wiring harness in the roof. My light went out when i unpluged the front roof console lights. i don't know if it will work but its worth a try
