Just finished boost gauge insallation.Should I see any boost at idle? Because it's late I was only able to drive around the block. Max speed 35mph, never saw more than 5# boost.Mostly 0#. Do I have a problem?

No boost at idle is normal. 5# at 30 mph is more than I would expect.
sounds fine

Zero at idle.

Just driving around the block... what you report sounds about right.

Thanks. I'll give it a better test tomorrow.

OK, my observations:
My boost guage reads 0 - 35# at 1# increments starting at 3#.

A- accel to 45mph = max boost 3# (first line on guage)down to 0.
B- steady 45 - 55 mph, barely moves needle.
C- heavy accel not wot 7-8# around 40-45mph drops to 0 then goes back up to 7-8#. I had to back off at 65 mph.
D- steady 60-65mph just under 3# line.

1- Do I have a problem?
2- Do I want/need more boost at 45-65 mph?
3- If so what would I have to do and what effect on my mpg would it have?

Thanks in advance
Ron

Sounds like you have a larger gauge than necessary. 15 psi is all that most need and 30 is more than any 6.5 needs. The 15 psi has best resolution at lower range.

Boost will vary based on RPM, and load along with ECM control.

You have what looks like stock boost levels, to get more you will need to reflash or get a Fooler from Kennedy, or make your own. Foolers trick the PCM into thinking it making as much boost so it does not clip your boost when you need it which is what GMs program does. But before adding boost you need to add airflow & exhaust mods first, also EGT gauge
