Today on my way to work, driving 70mph, the check engine light came on and lost all power. I coasted to the shoulder and the engine started knocking bad. It did not stall, just knocked and there was no power. It would only get to 30mph, knocking the whole time. I drove with my hazzard on about 10 miles to the shop as fast as it would go (20-30mph) where it is now. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Most likely a plugged fuel filter. Get the code checked and you'll know for sure. Good luck!

Do you have a LLY. If so your signature is wrong. If for sure its a LLY it is very possible it is the injecter harness. A well known problem with LLYs. tpitt

Tow bill = $150

Fuel filter change at the dealer = $95

Knowing how and having the tools to diagnose and replace it yourself = Priceless

It was an Injector harness. Was only running on 4 cylinders. Dealer said it was rare, but they have seen it before.

There is a bulletin on this from some time back.

Not as rare as they would like you to believe. Its a fairly common occurrence.
Mine hasn't done it yet. Terry

Does anyone know if this new harness is a new and improved version or the same faulty one as the original? I would hate to have this happen when I am in the middle of no where.

Thanks
