hello

I have a 95 3/4 sub 6.5. The 4x4 has alway had a delay when I shift into 4x4 about 20 seconds. Now the 4X4 won't engage at all. I think there is an upgrade for this problem an actuator? Does anybody have more information/ideas or parts numbers?

I upgraded mine seven years ago right after I bought the truck. Don't remember the P/N. Just go to the dealer and ask for the upgraded Central Axel Disconnect and the harness kit. They'll be able to get you fixed up.

The new actuator is a stepper motor while the old one is a thermal actuator that always had some delay. The new one is very fast and much more reliable.

You should also make sure that you have good contact at the switch on the transfer case.

What kind of money are we looking at for this upgrade?

IIRC it's about $60.00 There was a mecanical replacement from a guy in Oregon several years ago. He said he just ran his engaged all the time.
