Last night I pulled the TH400 from my M1009 cucv and fitted a 700r4 from my spare 6.2l blazer.
The spare Blazer hadn't moved in 10 years so prior to breaking it up I gave it a good run round a friends farm to make sure all was well mechanically. After a couple of days playing with it the 700r4 and engine were pulled and stored in my workshop for 2 years.
Prior to fitting the pan was removed and new filter and gasket fitted. once fitted it was filled with Dexron 3 and ran for a few minutes. No leaks, Smooth gear changes but no converter lock up.
Drove to work this morning - no problems, no leaks only the converter didn't lock.
Went a short run at lunchtime and started losing drive and it was leaking from the servo, Torque converter and blowing dexron through the filler.
Now I'm looking at refitting the th400 unless anyone has some ideas.
