Piston Damage with Pictures

I had my engine apart to find a problem with the oil pressure and decided that when I had it apart I should pull the head and check the pistons where I had some injection lines crossed and burned off some glow plugs. Well there was some damage and I was wondering if it was bad enough that they need to be replaced.

The first two pistons are the good pistons. It also shows that the ceramic coating from the Diesel Depot can stay on for at least 900 miles. I know arveetech was asking about that in a posting once.

Appears to be minimal damage from glow plug pieces - check the cylinder walls for damage, check those pistons for cracks - if none, I'd replace the head gaskets and go back together with it.

If you're turbo'ed, I would suggest alternative actions.

It is turboed so I will repace the pisyons while I have it apart.

Wise choice, turbo or not, IMO.
